Meteorological & Traffic Monitoring Solutions
Many self-built small weather stations often experience significant data errors, mostly due to neglecting sensor installation layout rules. Proper meteorological observation towers follow a rigorous layered deployment logic.
Wind speed and direction sensors are extended outside the tower structure, away from steel framework obstruction to prevent airflow interference that could compromise wind measurement accuracy. Temperature and humidity radiation shields are positioned away from heat-absorbing sections of the tower, avoiding structural heat buildup from sunlight that could distort environmental temperature and humidity readings. Communication antennas are installed independently, with wiring separated from meteorological sensor cables to eliminate electromagnetic interference that may cause data corruption or transmission failures. Traditional ground-based weather stations are easily affected by weeds and surface heat. Elevated tower-mounted deployment brings sensors closer to the true atmospheric environment, delivering higher data accuracy. In current smart meteorological infrastructure projects, the tower-integrated distributed sensor model has become the mainstream approach. Paired with Modbus IoT protocols, monitoring data can be seamlessly integrated into smart city platforms and meteorological early warning systems, supporting weather forecasting, disaster early warning, and ecological environment research.
