Mountain Expressway Early Warning & Disaster Reduction Meteorological Monitoring Station

Guizhou Provincial Transportation Survey & Design Institute developed a traffic meteorology cloud service platform tailored to Guizhou's mountainous terrain featuring volatile microclimate and frequent disasters such as patchy fog, road icing and heavy rainfall, breaking away from the conventional extensive full-area weather forecasting model.

For hardware deployment, the institute adopted a full lineup of meteorological and pavement monitoring equipment manufactured by Hongyue Technology, including HY-VTF306B visibility sensors, HY-RSS11 non-contact pavement condition detectors and HY-WDS6 automatic weather stations, to realize segmented meteorological monitoring along expressway sections.

The platform precisely collects core monitoring data covering temperature, humidity, rainfall, visibility and pavement conditions across individual road segments. It links with multiple traffic management measures including intelligent de-icing, fog-area light guidance, dynamic speed limit prompting and traffic flow diversion, building a closed-loop management mechanism of meteorological monitoring – risk assessment – proactive emergency disposal.

This solution effectively addresses the industry pain points of difficult early prediction and delayed response to localized meteorological hazards on mountain expressways, comprehensively safeguarding road safety under adverse weather conditions.
