Introduction

HY-SLV5-3E Smoke & Visibility Detector is engineered for special equipment and environmental scenarios. Its flue gas detection unit is housed inside a sealed metal protective enclosure. An internal air intake assembly draws ambient air or smoke into the detection chamber via a flexible hose. The instrument measures smoke density through infrared forward scattering photometry to calculate smoke concentration and visibility values, then exhausts the sampled flue gas out of the enclosure through another hose. This visibility detection unit delivers highly sensitive detection of ultra-low flue gas concentrations. As an innovative smoke detector, it captures smoke particles in real time at rapid response speeds and triggers immediate alarms. It performs reliably even under high wind conditions and for smoldering ("cold") fires. The detector provides reference data for atmospheric attenuation measurements of high-power lasers. Its detection module can be physically separated from the flue gas generation zone by a distance of several meters, safeguarding both the instrument and on-site personnel. Tailored for flue gas and visibility measurement in special operating environments, this visibility meter is applicable to moving vehicles, compact equipment enclosures, radiator peripheries, high-turbulence zones, ground surfaces, river and marine water surfaces, and more.
